From combat to civilian life: too many lose their compass

Every year, 15,000 young men and women complete years of demanding combat service.

Throughout this period, they are required to stay focused, uphold strong values, and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, facing complex realities and challenges across multiple fronts.

Despite years of high-intensity service, only 1 in 5 receives any meaningful support to ease their transition to civilian life, leaving many vulnerable to isolation, anxiety, and an increased risk of PTSD.

We owe them more than gratitude, we owe them a path forward.

Our vision is to ensure that every combat veteran in Israel doesn't just return home, they rise.

Home. Community. Mission.

Together with local municipalities,we are building an innovative network of physical centers across the country, exclusively for discharged combat soldiers - a unique framework that offers warmth, empowerment, and full support through their first steps in civilian life.

Each center will include:

Moving Forward (Registered Nonprofit) was founded by Ariel Ben-Haim, recently discharged from a special elite unit (Israel’s Counter-Terrorism Unit) and former officer in the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Unit, and Elazar Kaufman, entrepreneur, product leader, and former commander in the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit — both active reservists and childhood friends.

In recent years, we have witnessed the growing challenges faced by soldiers transitioning from combat service to civilian life.

We decided to leave everything behind — and turn our personal experience into a national mission.

Together with friends, fellow soldiers, and professionals, we embarked on the journey of our lives — to build a network that will change reality.
